Gifts and Souvenirs Purchased in Madrid, Spain Trip 본문
I want to talk about the gifts I bought during my trip to Spain. The final destination of our trip was Madrid, so I purchased all the gifts there. I've detailed recommended items for gifts purchased in Madrid, Spain, and the places where I bought them.
1. espadrilles
The first item I had in mind to buy as a travel gift in Madrid was espadrilles. I read about espadrilles in a magazine. There was a store selling espadrilles in the hotel we stayed at, so I visited the store.
One noteworthy thing about buying espadrilles is that this place is very popular, but the store isn't very spacious, and the service can be slow. So, it's recommended to visit either right when they open or before 11 AM to avoid the crowds. I went a bit after 10 AM, and as time passed, more people arrived, making it quite hectic. If you don't want to wait in line, it's best to arrive early.

They had some great shoes for spring, autumn, or summer. There were some shoes that were not as affordable as I expected, so it's important to choose wisely. Espadrilles might not be suitable for rainy weather, so consider the weather of the area you plan to wear them in before making a purchase.
It was fun to explore the store. After carefully looking around, I picked a pair that reminded me of my trip to Spain. The design wasn't extremely trendy, but I wanted a fashion item that would remind me of my trip before leaving Spain, so I bought them.
I bought around five pairs of shoes. There were more expensive options as well as cheaper ones. You can only know if a pair of shoes suits you by trying them on. This is crucial. Even if a pair looks beautiful, it might not suit you once you put them on. I highly recommend trying them on before making a purchase. To try them on comfortably, it's best to go early.
2. El Corte Inglés (department store)
I visited El Corte Inglés, a department store in Madrid. I initially planned to go to the Bimba y Lola store, but I ended up exploring other brands' bags and also bought perfume. Next to the Bimba y Lola store, there was Adolfo Dominguez, a designer brand bag store.
It had a rattan bag vibe, even though it wasn't made of rattan. It seemed suitable for summer. Since they had a variety of beautiful bags, I bought the bags for gifts here. The bag I bought was on sale, so it was more affordable than bags from other brands.
I also visited the Bimba y Lola store inside the department store. The shoes, bags, and other items were lovely, but I didn't find a style I wanted to buy, so I didn't make any purchases.
Lastly, I went to explore perfumes in the department store. They had LOEWE perfumes. After trying several, I purchased one that seemed the best. It's also intended as a gift.
I diligently searched for other gifts in other places.
3. United Colors of Benetton

The next place I visited was the Benetton store in Madrid. The prices at the Benetton store in Europe, as opposed to Benetton stores in Asia, were much more affordable, which is why many people come here. I decided to buy clothes as a gift for my niece here. The store was quite large, with either two or three floors. On the first floor, there were women's clothes, and the children's clothing, perfect for my niece, was located on the upper floor.
Although this place didn't have very good reviews on Google, I didn't encounter any major issues while shopping. What I noticed while shopping at the Benetton store in Madrid was that there were so many clothes that I wanted to buy. There were plenty of beautiful and colorful clothes. Since my suitcase didn't have much space, and my luggage was already quite heavy with things I already had, I reluctantly controlled my desires and decided to buy only the planned clothes for my niece.
After contemplating what clothes to buy for my niece, I ended up purchasing a dress and a denim jacket. After buying them, I sent them to my sister. When I saw my niece wearing them, they looked much prettier than I had imagined just by looking at the clothes. The actual items were much more beautiful, especially when worn.
After finishing shopping at Benetton, I headed to Zara.
4. Madrid Zara
There was an area in Madrid where stores like Zara, Mango, and Massimo Dutti were all located. I decided to take a taxi from the hotel to this area, thinking it would be convenient to shop at multiple stores at once.

After a lot of enthusiastic window shopping, I left the stores. I wanted to buy sunglasses, but there wasn't anything that caught my eye.
Next, I planned to buy famous Spanish chocolates and MERCADONA(honey-chrysanthemum-tea). I visited a nearby supermarket. It was a Carrefour Express supermarket. Visiting a Spanish supermarket was quite enjoyable, too. I went to the section where chocolates were displayed, but I didn't know exactly what was famous, so I randomly picked some.
I searched for the famous Spanish skincare brand MartiDerm on the internet and visited a pharmacy. However, they didn't have MartiDerm products. So, with a bit of disappointment, I bought a product recommended by the staff. It was Flavo-C Daily Serum from ISDIN. This brand seemed to be quite popular, often purchased alongside MartiDerm. The serum was said to be good for anti-aging. The reaction to the gift was positive. When MartiDerm is not available, I recommend ISDIN.
I also tried to buy skincare products from a brand called Alvarez Gomez, which is known to be supplied to the Spanish royal family. However, they didn't have much in stock. So, I ended up buying cream and cologne.
After the Alvarez Gomez purchase, I wrapped up my travel itinerary by buying a Madrid cup at Starbucks.
That's how I summarized the souvenirs I bought in Madrid. I hope this information is helpful for those planning to buy souvenirs during their trip to Spain.
